About editing network object data
There are a number of places where network object parameters can be viewed and edited:
- Network objects can be moved using either the GeoPlan window, the grid views, or the property sheets.
- To edit most other network object parameters, you can use the appropriate grid view.
- Some parameters, such as tabular data, cannot be displayed on a single row of a grid. To edit all network object parameters you need to use the appropriate property sheet.
- Some network object parameters can be viewed as labels on the GeoPlan. These parameters cannot be edited unless you open either the grid view or property sheet.
Where to view and edit network objects:
- Most general object parameters can be edited on the grid views or property sheets.
- There are some additional tools for cleaning and adjusting polygon and polyline objects.
- There are also some additional tools, mainly to help with adjusting geographical parameters, that are specific to certain types of object.
For more about the individual parameters for the network objects, see the various data fields topics in the network objects section.
Structure of network object data
There are two parts to the parameters for each network object.
- Every object has object parameters defining the fixed structure of the object.
- If the network has a set of control data associated with it, some objects may have additional control data.
The object parameters for an object can be edited only if the network is checked out. The control parameters can be edited only if the control set is checked out. See About control data for more details about the relationship between networks and control sets.
