Importing CCTV Survey Data
CCTV survey data can be imported into the network from a number of data formats.
Always import data that matches the CCTV standard selected for the database. Importing data that matches another standard will result in data fields that will not match those for the currently selected standard, and any defect scoring will be wrong.
If the database is set up for a different CCTV data standard to that associated with the selected data format a warning will be displayed.
The following CCTV data formats can be imported:
To import Examiner CCTV data into a network:
- Open the network to be updated.
- Select Import | Import CCTV survey data | Import Examiner CCTV data from the Network menu. The Import Examiner CCTV Dialog is displayed.
- In this dialog:
- Browse to find the data file. A standard Open dialog will be displayed. Multiple files may be selected by using the CTRL and SHIFT keys.
- Choose a flag to apply to all the imported data if required.
- Check the User Units option to import values as being in the current display units.
- Set the options for generating CCTV Survey IDs and handling duplicate IDs
- Click Import to complete the import process.
To import CCTV data in Sewer.dat format into a network:
- Open the network to be updated.
- Select Import | Import CCTV survey data | Import Sewer.dat CCTV data from the Network menu. The Import sewer.dat CCTV Dialog is displayed.
- In this dialog:
- Browse to find the data file. A standard Open dialog will be displayed. Multiple files may be selected by using the CTRL and SHIFT keys.
- Choose a flag to apply to all the imported data if required.
- Check the User Units option to import values as being in the current display units.
- Set the options for generating CCTV Survey IDs and handling duplicate IDs
- Click Import to complete the import process.
Defect Percentage and Intrusion values are defined in the same field in a sewer.dat file. When importing sewer.dat files, both fields in the CCTV defects grid will be populated.
To import EU CCTV data into a network from XML files and CSV files:
- Open the network to be updated.
- Select Import | Import CCTV survey data | Import EU CCTV data from the Network menu. The Import CCTV from EU XML / CSV Dialog is displayed.
- In this dialog :
- Browse to find the data file. A standard Open dialog will be displayed. Multiple files may be selected by using the CTRL and SHIFT keys.
- Choose a flag to apply to all the imported data if required.
- Set the options for generating CCTV Survey IDs and handling duplicate IDs.
- Click Import to complete the import process.
CCTV data can be imported into a network from a selection of PACP/LACP files.
Data from PACP/LACP files attached to selected CCTV surveys may also be imported.
To import PACP and/or LACP CCTV data into a network:
- Open the network to be updated.
- Select Network | Import | Import CCTV survey data | Import PACP/LACP CCTV data. The PACP/LACP Import Dialog is displayed.
- In this dialog:
- Browse to find the data file. A standard Open dialog will be displayed. Multiple files may be selected by using the CTRL and SHIFT keys.
- Choose a flag to apply to all the imported data if required.
- Check the Import PACP box to import data from the following PACP database tables:
- PACP_Inspections
- PACP_Conditions
- PACP_Media_Inspections
- PACP_Media_Conditions
- PACP_Custom_Fields
- Check the Import LACP box to import data from the following LACP database tables:
- LACP_Inspections
- LACP_Conditions
- LACP_Media_Inspections
- LACP_Media_Conditions
- LACP_Custom_Fields
- Optionally check the option to Import Images.
- Set the options for generating CCTV Survey IDs and handling duplicate IDs.
- Click Import to complete the import process.
If a PACP/LACP text value is imported to a choice list field, which has no corresponding choice list record, (because the wrong standard is selected or the choice lists have been edited), the full text will appear in the CCTV Survey Grid instead of a choice list code.
To import CCTV data from survey attachments:
- Open the network to be updated.
- Select the CCTV surveys with attachments containing data to be imported.
- Select Network | Import | Import CCTV survey data | Import PACP/LAPC from attachments in selected surveys. The Import PACP/LAPC from attachments in selected surveys dialog is displayed.
- In the import dialog, set options as required.
- To complete the import process, click Import.
For each selected survey, InfoAsset Manager will check all attachments for PACP/LAPC files. Surveys will be imported according to the options set in the import dialog.
A log will be displayed providing a summary of surveys imported and reasons for any failures.
CCTV data can be imported into a network from a selection of MSCC XML format files.
Data from MSCC XML files attached to selected CCTV surveys may also be imported.
To import CCTV data in MSCC XML format into a network:
- Open the network to be updated.
- Select Network | Import | Import CCTV survey data | Import MSCC XML CCTV data. The Import MSCC XML Dialog is displayed.
- In this dialog:
- Browse to find the data file. A standard Open dialog will be displayed. Multiple files may be selected by using the CTRL and SHIFT keys.
- Optionally check the box to import images.
- Choose a flag to apply to all the imported data if required.
- Optionally check the box to mark imported surveys as completed.
- Set the options for generating CCTV Survey IDs and handling duplicate IDs.
- Click Import to complete the import process.
To import CCTV data from survey attachments:
- Open the network to be updated.
- Select the CCTV surveys with attachments containing data to be imported.
- Select Import | Import CCTV survey data | Import MSCC XML from attachments in selected surveys from the Network menu. The Import MSCC XML from attachments in selected surveys dialog is displayed.
- In this dialog:
- Choose a flag to apply to all the imported data if required
- Optionally check the box to mark imported surveys as completed.
- Set the options for generating CCTV Survey IDs and handling duplicate IDS
- Click Import to complete the import process.
For each selected survey, InfoAsset Manager will check all attachments for XML files that are in MSCC format. Surveys will be imported according to the options set in the import dialog.

To import CCTV data in BEFDSS XML format into a network:
- Open the network to be updated.
- Select Import | Import CCTV survey data | Import BEFDSS XML CCTV data from the Network menu. The Import BEFDSS XML CCTV Dialog is displayed.
- In this dialog:
- Browse to find the data file. A standard Open dialog will be displayed. Multiple files may be selected by using the CTRL and SHIFT keys.
- Optionally check the box to import images.
- Optionally check the Update existing records by matching node reference and employers job reference option to merge survey data into existing surveys. If a matching survey is not found, a new survey will be imported.
- Choose a flag to apply to all the imported data if required.
- Set the options for generating CCTV Survey IDs and handling duplicate IDs.
- Click Import to complete the import process.
To import CCTV data from a CleanFlow database into a network:
- Open the network to be updated.
- Select Import | Import CCTV survey data | Import CleanFlow CCTV data from the Network menu. A standard Open dialog is displayed.
- Select the CleanFlow database to be imported.
- Click Open to complete the import process.
Only one data file can be selected at a time. If the CCTV data is contained in several files, the import process must be repeated.
CCTV image files can be imported and associated with points along CCTV surveys.

To import CCTV data in WSA transfer format into a network:
- Open the network to be updated.
- Select Import | Import CCTV survey data | Import CCTV data from WSA transfer format from the Network menu. The Import WSA Data dialog is displayed.
- In this dialog:
- Browse to find the data file. A standard Open dialog will be displayed. Multiple files may be selected by using the CTRL and SHIFT keys.
- Choose a flag to apply to all the imported data if required.
- Set the options for generating CCTV Survey IDs and handling duplicate IDs.
- Click Import to complete the import process.
To import ISYBAU CCTV data into a network from XML files:
- Open the network to be updated.
- Select Import | Import CCTV survey data | Import ISYBAU XML CCTV data from the Network menu. The Import CCTV Surveys from ISYBAU XML Dialog is displayed.
- In this dialog:
- Browse to find the data file. A standard Open dialog will be displayed. Multiple files may be selected by using the CTRL and SHIFT keys.
- Choose a flag to apply to all the imported data if required.
- Set the options for generating CCTV Survey IDs and handling duplicate IDs.
- To complete the import process, click Import.
