  9. Type in a filename.
  10. Select a format in the Save as type : bmp, jpeg, gif or png.
    • The BMP file format or bitmap image file is a raster graphics image file format. This format produces larger file sizes (as BMP files are usually not compressed) and does not always support transparency.
    • The Graphics Interchange Format or GIF is a bitmap image format that has a limited colour palette (up to 256 distinct colours) and so is often smaller than JPG or PNG equivalents.GIF format is good for line drawings (images that are not photographs) and also supports transparency.
    • JPEG is a commonly used method of lossy compression for digital photography. It produces high quality images and significant compression allows for big resolutions and small file sizes. This is the most common image format, especially for photos.
    • Portable Network Graphics or PNG is a bitmapped image format using lossless data compression and supporting alpha transparency. PNGs are the best overall image format, especially for computer-generated graphics and files containing text and images with sharp transitions. However they can be of a larger file size than JPEGs and are not supported by all operating systems or browsers.

  11. Click Save. Both dialogs close.
