Scheduling tasks
InfoAsset Mobile provides functionality for viewing all scheduled tasks in a calendar-style view. This can be accessed by selecting the Schedule tab.
Note: The schedule tab is visible only if scheduling is enabled for the current application (see Enabling scheduling for an application).
The Scheduler provides easy navigation to a particular date using the calendar as well as a Today icon to view the schedule for today’s date.
Note: Forms and derived reports can be made schedulable only if scheduling has been enabled for the associated application (see Enabling scheduling for an application).
Tasks are scheduled at form creation or editing time.
The following items should be set:
- The form must contain a Date control. The Date control can be:
- generic (Date control from the Toolbox)
- related to an InfoAsset Manager object (for example, Date Resolved for an incident or Date Planned for a survey).
- The Scheduled Date Field property of the form must be set to that Date Control in the Property Box:
- Click on Scheduled Date Field. An ellipsis button appears on the cell to the right of the property.
- Click on it.
- Select the date field to use for scheduling. This date is one of the controls added to the form in a previous step.
- Click OK.
The read-only Enable Scheduling property is set to True.
- Optional - You can, if you want, edit the duration of the scheduled task (Scheduled Duration Default set to 4:00 hours).
- Optional - You can also specify the scheduled end date (Scheduled End Date Field).
- Specify the resource to allocate this task to (Scheduled Resource Field):
- Click on Scheduled Resource Field. An ellipsis button appears on the cell to the right of the property.
- Click on it.
- Select the resource field to use for this task.
- Click OK.
- Save the form.
The Date to Use dialog is displayed.
The Resource to Use dialog is displayed.
It is recommended to give a title to the schedule so it is easily identifiable on the scheduler (Schedule Title). It is best to use a short name (6 characters maximum) as the scheduler has a limited amount of space.
- Once the associated application is published, reports can be generated from the form. Refer to the Generating reports from forms topic for details on report creation.
- Schedule Reports are visible on the Scheduler once they have been saved, and they are colour-coded so that a user can, at a glance, quickly identify tasks that are overdue (red) or not completed but not overdue (white).
- An unfinished report (white icon) can be repositioned inside the Scheduler by dragging and dropping. This will modify the date set in the Schedule Date Field to the date the icon has been moved to in the schedule. Overdue reports (red icon) may also be repositioned within the Scheduler, whereas completed reports (green icon) may not. See Moving reports and work packages on the Scheduler.
