What's new in InfoWorks WS Pro version 5.0

This topic lists the additions and improvements incorporated in InfoWorks WS Pro Version 2023.2 which were not available in previous versions.

Please note that this new version also includes various enhancements and bug fixes that are not described in detail here.

Support for MapXtreme 9.2.0

The MapXtreme map control has been updated from version 8.1.0 to 9.2.0. This provides a number of bug fixes, as well as some new projections, mostly in Australia. More details can be found at pitneybowes.com.

WARNING

InfoWorks WS Pro has been updated to leverage MapXtreme 9.2.0 which provides a number of benefits, but due to incompatibility between MapXtreme 9.2.0 and MapXtreme 8.1.0 components (used in InfoWorks WS Pro 2023.2 and earlier), InfoWorks WS Pro versions predating 2023.2 will no longer work with WMS layer sources once InfoWorks WS Pro 2023.2 has been installed.

Ability to select from Thematic Key window

In the Thematic Key window, you can now use a context menu option (Select objects) to select all objects of a listed type or sub-category on the GeoPlan.

Long section improvements

More information is now displayed in the Long Section window. A new toolbar allows you to perform a variety of tasks in the Long Section window. The Long Section Properties dialog has been enhanced, allowing you to change the way in which a long section is displayed and to edit attributes including colours and fonts.

Support for Ruby scripts using add-ons

Ruby scripts can now be run using add-ons from an option on the Network menu.

Support for InfoWater user data fields

User field data can be imported into the InfoWorks WS Plus User Text fields and User Number fields. A maximum of 15 of each field type can be populated, the selection and mapping being made when exporting from InfoWater. Boolean data must be imported into User Number fields, where True is imported as 1 and False as 0.

Predefined SQL queries

Ten sets of predefined stored queries are now available when setting up a stored query group.

Predefined themes

Two sets of predefined themes ("overwrite" themes and "add" themes) are now available when setting up a theme group.

Control time interval change

Previously, when you requested a simulation outside the control time interval, all controls were shifted so that the start of the control time interval was the same as the start of the simulation. This could give unexpected results. Now, only controls within the control time interval window are shifted.
