What's new in InfoWorks WS Pro version 3.5
This topic lists the additions and improvements incorporated in InfoWorks WS Pro Version 3.5 which were not available in previous versions.
Validation control and feedback
To improve performance, validation of runs is now optional (set from the Schedule Hydraulic Run view), and is run as a separate agent job. The validation status of a completed run is reported in the Run Control window.
New indicators for validation and completion status
The validation and completion status of runs (simulations) is now shown by symbol colours, tool tips, property fields, and popups.
Run group simulation icons in the Model Group window are now colour-coded to include validation status, as follows:
- light blue - simulation in progress
- red on black - failure due to validation errors, or engine failure, or IT failure
- green - validated and perfect engine run
- yellow - unstable or incomplete run (validated or not validated)
- green with yellow-orange border - perfect engine run but not validated
- grey/green - simulation for which results are not available
Hovering the mouse pointer over a simulation name or icon in the Model Group window will show a pop-up box that includes the completion and validation status.
Selecting Properties from the context menu of a simulation in the Model Group window will open a dialog containing a Simulation page, on which can be seen the completion and validation status.
The Run Control window contains a Validation column, showing validation status, including the number of warnings generated during validation (if any).
Improved drop targets in dialogs
In dialogs that take previously created inputs, such as the Schedule Hydraulic Run view, the drop targets for these have been enhanced. Colour-coded outlines now indicate which inputs are mandatory (red), and which have been correctly completed (green).
Live data activity logging
You can now choose to record live data activity in the job run log file. The option for setting this is on the Test Feed dialog.
Object Properties window
Object properties are now displayed in the new Object Properties window. This provides a way of looking at all the data for a single network object in a structured way. It uses new-style property sheets to encompass all the properties of the object, presented in a tree view.
GeoPlan selection box
You can now use the Select mouse pointer to draw a rectangular box on a GeoPlan that will select all the objects within it.
User Text and User Number fields
The number of User Text fields and User Number fields has been increased to fifteen in both cases. See Editing global user defined field names.
Core restriction for runs
It is now possible, on the Schedule Run(s) dialog, to restrict a given run to a maximum number of cores. This allows cores to be held free while large runs are in progress (for example, during critical link analysis).
