What's New in Version 16.5 - November 2015
This topic lists all the additions and improvements incorporated in InfoNet 16.5 which were not available in previous versions.
Relationship enhancements
It is now possible to use built-in objects in the InfoNet data model as sources for user-defined relationships. It is also possible to specify the maximum and minimum number of target objects which are allowed for a specific user-defined relationship. The limits are enforced when creating or deleting objects via the object browser. An additional validation rule is available to verify that objects are satisfying these limits.
See the Object Browser Window for information about creating and deleting user-defined objects and Managing User Defined Relationships for information about managing relationships.
Object Browser Enhancements
It is now possible to display tooltips for objects and relationships in the Object Browser Window. To enable this feature, ensure that the GeoPlan Window is open and select Properties & Themes from its context menu. Then select the Auto Labels and Tooltips tab, and ensure that either Interactive Tooltips or Image Tooltips box is checked. See Customising Tooltips for further information about tooltips.
External Data Server support for user-defined objects
The External Data Server configuration interface has now been extended to allow External Data items to be associated with user-defined objects.
See the Object Browser Window for information about creating and deleting user-defined objects and Managing User Defined Relationships for information about managing relationships.
Inference of ground level for properties
The property object in both collection and distribution networks now has a ground level field. This field value may be populated by using a new inference rule, which calculates the ground level from an InfoNet ground model object.
See Inference Rules - Property Parameters (Collection) and Inference Rules - Property Parameters (Distribution) for more information.
Integration with ICM Time Series Databases
The ICM Time Series Database (TSDB) provides access to time-series data streams. New functionality within InfoNet Executive Suite allows users to connect directly to a TSDB within the InfoNet database, associate data feeds to specific assets and review the time series data graphically and in grid form.
Integration with Infinity System for time-series data
Infinity System provides access to time-series information in a Web browser interface. InfoNet now has the ability to store links from Network Asset objects to external Infinity System data streams, providing access to both historical and real-time network performance data.
New Restore all option for the Recycle Bin
A new Restore all option, which enables all Database Items to be restored from the recycle bin to their original location within the Master Database, is now available.
See Recycle Bin for details.
Ability to lock the positions of the toolbars
It is now possible to lock the toolbars to their current positions on the InfoAsset Manager main window by selecting the Customise toolbars...option from the Tools menu, and then checking the Lock positions box. This prevents accidental moving of the toolbars by users.
See Customise Dialog for details.
SQL Enhancement
It is now possible to format datetime fields for display using the new functions DATEFORMAT(), TIMEFORMAT() and DATETIMEFORMAT().
The use of Prompts has been enhanced by allowing the SQL PROMPT TITLE and PROMPT LINE commands to use a variable as an argument, instead of restricting the user to a constant value. See the help topic, SQL in InfoWorks ICM, ICMLive Configuration Manager and InfoAsset Manager, for details.
New GeoPlan tools option available from the GeoPlan menu
A new menu option, GeoPlan tools is now available in the GeoPlan menu, which displays the options that are used primarily when working on the GeoPlan Window. These options are also available on the GeoPlan Toolbar. See the GeoPlan Menu and the Geoplan Toolbar for further information about the GeoPlan Window options.
Edit flags can be accessed from the Tools menu
It is now possible to select which user defined flag is to be used as default during an editing operation from the Tools menu as well as from the Edit Toolbar.
See Data Flags for more information.
Support for the NASSCO Lateral Assessment & Certification Program (LACP)
InfoNet now supports the NASSCO Lateral Assessment & Certification Program. Data from an LACP (NASSCO Lateral Assessment and Certification Program) database can now be imported into InfoNet and exported in an LACP compliant format. See PACP/LAPC Import Dialog for further information.
Support for version 7.0 of the NASSCO PACP, MACP and LACP survey standards
The latest version of the NASSCO Standards, PACP, MACP and LACP is now supported by InfoNet. Data can be imported from version 7.0 databases (and legacy versions) and exported in the latest format.
Additional import options for MACP survey data
The MACP importer has been extended to allow users to select various methods to create survey ids and handle possible duplication of survey information during import. This allows the multiple MACP datasets to be easily managed together, in a manner similar to that previously existing for users of the PACP standard.
Filtering of validation rules
InfoNet has a large number of validation rules available for use. To make it easier to find validation rules of interest, the validation lists can now be filtered based on matching of keywords. An additional “Standard” column has also been added to help identify validation rules that apply for a specific CCTV or Manhole Survey standard.
Use of font characters for thematic display of symbols
The GeoPlan theming functionality has been extended to allow the user to specify characters from a particular font for use as symbols. This is in addition to existing built-in symbols available in the software.
Pumps relationship with Treatment Works
It is now possible to associate pump objects with treatment works objects. This is analogous to the existing relationship between pumps and pumping stations. This allows the usual navigation and SQL reporting tools to be used for pumps related to treatment works. This applies to both collection and distribution networks.
WMS Enhancements for MapXtreme GIS Controls
A number of additional options are now available to control the display of Web Mapping Service (WMS) layers. The user may now specify the Map Image Format, Background Colour and Transparent properties for the WMS layer. WMS layers will automatically be displayed in the GeoPlan coordinate system, provided that the coordinate system is available. This avoids the need to create additional TAB files to configure the display of WMS layers. See the Web Map Service Properties Dialog for further information.
Simultaneous editing of settings for multiple GIS layers
The GIS Layer Control dialog now supports the simultaneous editing of settings for multiple layers. Modification of the Visible, Selectable, Editable, Zoom Levels and Properties options now affects all the layers currently highlighted in the GIS Layer Control Dialog.
