Database Items
The
The top level of this hierarchical structure is the Asset group. All other database items within the database must be contained in a asset group.
Database items can be version controlled or non-version controlled.
The names of version controlled items must be unique within a database.
All other names must be unique within that type. For example, two database items of different types within a assets group can have the same name, but two database items of the same type must have different names.
For users of InfoWorks, FloodWorks and InfoNet version 10.5 and earlier, it is worth mentioning that there are no type groups within Asset Groups in InfoAsset Manager. However, there is nothing stopping you from creating a new Asset Group and, for example, naming it 'SQL' and placing all your SQL queries in it. As it is possible to nest asset groups within asset groups, you can mimic type groups as in earlier versions.
Chapters on version controlled items are marked with a special icon while those for other objects are marked with the standard page icon .
Version controlled items
Version controlled items with local changes that have not yet been committed to the database are displayed with a red symbol in the bottom right hand corner, for example .

Collection network
Distribution network
Asset network |
Networks contain data for nodes, pipes and other subsidiary objects or assets. |
GeoExplorer |
The GeoExplorer provides a geographic view of the assets within the database. Associated AssetGroups, Networks and Workspaces can be opened via the GeoExplorer. |
Collection digitisation template
Distribution digitisation template |
The digitisation template stores user defined digitisation defaults for use when creating new network objects. |

Collection cost estimator Distribution cost estimator |
Cost estimators are used to provide cost information for assets where detailed cost information is not available. They may also be used where it would be unrealistic to collect and specify the information for individual assets. |
Collection inference Validation inference |
Stores information about sets of rules to be used when inferring missing network values from existing data, allowing you to fill in gaps in your data with reasonable values. See Inference for more information. |
Collection validation Distribution validation Asset validation |
You can examine a network for missing values, errors and inconsistencies. The Validation database item contains sets of rules to be used when carrying out validation. |
Custom report |
A Custom report is a customised Microsoft Excel report template. You can use this to generate your own reports on the data in your InfoAsset Manager database. |
Dashboard |
A Dashboard is a collection of graphical components (widgets) used to display a high level overview of stored queries results, including cross network queries.
Graph |
Stores graph settings in a template for future use. See Graphs for more details. |
Ground model grid |
Contains digital terrain mapping in Gridded format. Note: A gridded Ground Model is only displayed in the Explorer window after the data has been imported. See Importing and Exporting Gridded Ground Models for more details. |
Ground model TIN |
Contains digital terrain mapping in TIN format. |
Inference |
Stores information about sets of rules to be used when inferring missing network values from existing data, allowing you to fill in gaps in your data with reasonable values. See Inference for more information. |
Label list |
Stores information about a set of custom labels displayed on the GeoPlan Window. See Saving Custom Labels. |
Layer list |
You can load additional map layers on the GeoPlan Window to display all types of geographical information such as roads and buildings, surveyed maps, or even aerial photographs. Layer Lists provide a way of saving a set of additional layers as an object in the database so they can be easily reloaded. |
Lifetime estimator |
Used to estimate pipe expected lifetime and likelihood of pipe failure using statistical analysis. See Lifetime Estimator for details. |
Print layout |
Print layouts provide a flexible method of customising printed output. See Print Layouts for details. |
Rehabilitation planner |
Used to assess pipes in a Collection network in order to suggest survey and pipe repair plans based on risk of pipe failure and CCTV survey data. Selected surveys and repairs may then be scheduled from the planner. See Rehabilitation Planner for details. |
Risk assessment |
Used to calculate a pipe risk score indicating overall risk of structural failure, based on consequence of failure and likelihood of failure scores. See Risk Assessment for details. |
Selection list |
Contains lists of network objects that have been saved for future reference. |
Stored query |
Contains SQL queries, which are used for selecting network objects according to specified criteria. |
Theme |
Stores themes set up on the GeoPlan View for future use. See Saving Themes. |
Time varying data |
Stores time series data of observed measurements. See the Time Varying Data topic for further information. |
Web workspace | A read-only object that is created by the InfoAsset Online application. See the Web Workspace Object for further information.
Workspace |
Stores workspaces which save the settings and positions of open windows for future use. See Workspaces for further information. |
Recycle Bin |
The Recycle Bin stores database items that have been deleted from the database tree. An asterisk, displayed in brackets (*) to the right of the Recycle Bin icon, indicates that the bin contains deleted items. It is possible to empty the recycle bin and delete or restore individual items. See Recycle Bin for further details. |
