Button Editor

The Button Editor allows you to customise buttons on a form.

This editor is displayed:

when a button control or a control containing a button (GPS coordinate for example) is double-clicked on a form layout, or
when the ellipsis button adjacent to the Button Contents property of the control property box is clicked.

The Button Editor comes in two variants.

Standard Button Editor

The standard editor is displayed for a button control.

Buttons grid

Displays the currently available buttons and their properties (label, action, value, etc).

Button (group)

Label text box	Text-entry box for the label of the button.
Action	Dropdown list of actions that can be triggered when the currently selected button is clicked on the form: Disabled - Disables the button on the form. This option can be used if you want to temporarily disable a button without removing it from the form and then re-adding the configuration at a later date. New Report - Clicking the button will open a new report derived from the form selected in the Using dropdown list. See also the Configure button (below). CCTV or Manhole Survey Details with a video capture image - Clicking the button will add a defect to the Details grid, with an image as well as time details from the video (the video will be captured simultaneously). This option can be used when there is a video capture object on the form and when an image is required at the point of capturing the defect. (The video time will be used.) CCTV or Manhole Survey Details with no video capture image - Clicking the button will add a defect to the Details grid with time details from the video but no image will be captured. This option can be used when there is a video capture object on the form and when there is no requirement for an image at the point of capture. This will use the video time and be available even if the video is running. This option is ideal for setting the initial and final defect information such as start manhole, water level, and end manhole. CCTV or Manhole Survey Details with no video capture - Clicking the button will add a defect to the Details grid time stamped to the current time, but no video or image will be captured. This option can be used when there is no video capture object on the form and is intended for manned entry where no video device is available, and where therefore the current time is used instead. Print report and attach as a PDF - Clicking the button will print the current report as a PDF and attach it to the report. The Attachments field used to list the PDF attachment is selected from the Using dropdown list. See also the Configure button (below). Scan Barcode - Clicking the button will open the Scan Barcode dialog, for populating a field when a barcode is scanned, subject to the supporting hardware being in place. The field to be populated is selected from the Using dropdown list.
Using	Dropdown list containing objects appropriate for the action (see above).
Configure button	For new reports: Clicking this button displays the Link Forms dialog, where the button can be used to populate fields from the target form (selected in the Using dropdown list) using source information from the current form. For printed reports attached as PDFs: Clicking this button displays the Purpose dialog, for setting an associated purpose.

Tip: The three CCTV actions are always available but in practice are applicable only to CCTV and manhole survey forms containing a video capture object and a Details report grid in their design.

The GPS Button Editor is displayed for a GPS coordinate control.

Label text box

Text-entry box for the label for the button.

Target dropdown list

The target for the GPS coordinate values.

Available options are the form itself and any report grid present on the form.

Default is <Form>.

Association table

Used to set the target fields on the form or the report grid selected in the Target dropdown list to be populated with the data from the connected GPS device.

See Setting up a GPS Coordinate Control for more details.

Available GPS parameters are listed in the GPS section of the Property Box topic.

The Target dropdown list contains the fields currently present on the form or the report grid (depending on the option selected in the Target dropdown list - see row above) whose type is compatible with the GPS parameter to configure.

You can select a target field for each of the GPS parameters under Item that you want to record.

The Format dropdown list allows you to specify the format the data is to be displayed in.

For latitude and longitude, the GPSConversion option allows the conversion of the location from the GPS device.

The default is WGS 84.

If the format is set to GPSConversion, this indicates that a conversion will be performed when the button is clicked. The coordinate or projection system to convert to can be defined for the whole application (see GPS Setup dialog topic for further information) or for every individual report at run-time (see GPS Information dialog for more details).
