What's New in Version 17.0 - May 2016

This topic lists all the additions and improvements incorporated in InfoNet 17.0 which were not available in previous versions.

Third party geocoding services now accessible

It is now possible to find addresses within InfoAsset Manager using web map applications from Google™, Microsoft© Bing™ or a Nomination provider. Use the Online Find Options (Geocoding) to specify the geocoding options, and the (GeoPlan Find) and the (Go To XY Coordinates) toolbar tools to search for an address.

Ability to read alphanumeric time series data into a TSDB

Closed

TSD functionality is only available if the TSD option is enabled on your licence.

It is now possible to define lookup tables, which map alphanumeric text from imported time varying data into numerical values that can be recognised by InfoNet, and then assign the tables to the relevant data streams in the TSDB.

See Time Series Database for further information.

Reported dates for incidents and completion dates for survey and repairs now included in 'Navigate to' lists

When using one of the navigation options to find a related incident or a survey or repair task, InfoNet now includes, in the list of associated objects, the date on which the incident was reported and the date when a task was completed. See Common data fields for information about the completion date field for scheduled tasks, while the date field for reported incidents is described in the individual data field topics for the various types of incidents.

Expand selection option supports user-defined relationships

The Expand selection option is now more usable, as its dialog is modeless and resizable, and the function expands the current selection based on related objects rather than by associated objects or connected assets. This also allows user-defined relationships to be included in the expansion operation. Additional options also enable the expansion operation to be further refined. See Expand Selection Dialog for information about the dialog and the expansion options available, and Expanding the selection for details about using the function.

New Flood Defence Survey object

Flood defence survey objects can now be added to an InfoNet network. See Flood Defence Surveys for further information.

Support for ArcGIS 10.4

InfoNet now supports ArcGIS version 10.4 when using the ArcGIS Engine/ArcGIS Desktop map control.

See Changing the Current Map Control for further information on supported map controls.

Horizontal scrolling in long section views

InfoNet now enables you to scroll to horizontally in a long section view using the Ctrl + Page Up (scroll left) or Ctrl+Page Down (scroll right) keyboard keys.

Improvements to Find in database

Finding database items is now quicker. A new option - Match whole field - limits the extent of the search, speeding up the search process. In addition, the order in which you specify the search criteria is reversed. See Find in Database Dialog for further information.

Snapping line objects to nodes

Line objects, such as general lines and defence structures may now be snapped to nodes in the GeoPlan.

Finding a column in a grid

Finding one of many columns in a grid table is now easier. A Find column option on the context menu for any column header opens the Find Column In Grid Dialog, through which you can choose the column you are looking for from a drop-down list.
