Using SWMM Networks in InfoWorks ICM

The following provides a brief outline describing how data may be set up in InfoWorks ICM in order to run simulations using SWMM networks.

The first step is to add a SWMM network to the master database in the Explorer window, and then open the new SWMM network on the GeoPlan.

Data can now be added to the network. A typical process is listed below:

Event data for SWMM networks

Events in InfoWorks ICM are database items which are not tied to a particular type of network so the same event can be applied to either a SWMM or an InfoWorks network, provided it is applicable to that type of network. The following types of events can be used in a SWMM network:

Note that the parameters required to be defined for an event used in a SWMM network may be different to that for an InfoWorks network, and that this is indicated in the relevant help topic.

Time series databases

There are two types of times series database (TSDB) objects used in ICM - spatial and scalar - both of which can be used with a SWMM network.

Note

Time series database cannot be used in SWMM network simulations in conjunction with Events. However events can be imported into scalar time series databases.
